2018 NASPA Region IV-West Conference

10/23/2018 - 10/25/2018
Wichita Marriott - Wichita, Kansas

Program Proposal Deadline: July 20, 2018
Notification of Program Status: August 21, 2018

The NASPA Region IV-W Conference Committee invites you to join us in Wichita, Kansas October 23 - 25 2018. The 2018 NASPA IV-W Conference is a three-day gathering of student affairs professionals who come together to reflect, learn, network, and be inspired. This year’s conference theme is "Reflection Inspires Our Future".  The 2018 Region IV-West Conference will allow us time to come together to reflect on the last 100 years of NASPA and look forward to the future of our profession.

Proposals will be evaluated based on content; relevance to the conference theme and the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners; evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives; timely topical/content areas; contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs; and adherence to program submission guidelines.

General Interest Sessions: Sessions are directly related to the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners or provide an opportunity to showcase programs, strategies, or interventions that have been successful on a particular campus.

Research Sessions: Sessions that include the presentation of one or more research papers, followed by a facilitated discussion of themes and/or findings. Presenters will be contacted to submit an Initial Research Proposal that is 15-20 pages (double-spaced) with references.

Round Table Sessions: Sessions that allow for in-depth discussion related to current events, developing trends, association business, or functional areas.

SA Talks: Similar to a "TED" Talk, these are 15 minute sessions where a presenter speaks on a topic of interest to Student Affairs professionals with a focus on inspiring and encouraging change.

Note: All sessions above will be 50 minutes in length with the exception of "SA Talks" which allow presenters to speak for 15 minutes on the topic of their choice.

Please submit demographic information for the coordinating presenter, and complete all of the fields below. For longer text fields, such as the program abstract and outline, you may find it easier to type in a word processing program and cut and paste the text into the space provided.
